Nusa ~ Lembongan
Overview of the Nusa Lembongan
From Bali, Lembongan is the perfect next step, although it has changed a lot over the years, its still a great little tropical island a great place to take your wife/girlfriend/partner or family but an equally great place to head over with your mates to get away from the kuta party seen, it's not a very big island with no cars with the economy based around tourism and seaweed farming.
Nearby Island Nusa
penida, doesn't have any waves with cliffs and deep
rocky shoreline, but it does have good diving and is
worth a trip around to snorkel spots like the wall.
Waves
Although there's limited surf spots the waves on Lembongan can be great value especially for surfers new to surfing coral reefs, Shipwrecks in particular is a great spot for average surfers to gain confidence,if you turn up and it looks tiny or flat don't worry the area is very tidal dependent, with swell increasing dramatically from low to high.
Crowd wise
Due to being so close to Bali and with visiting boats charters, Lembongan can go from packed out one day to empty the next.
West Nusa Lembongan surf spots
Ship wrecks- The
most consistent wave on the island, shipwrecks is
good fun right that just about anyone can have fun
on, throwing up all kinds of sections from
whackable walls to a few pits and everything
Razzors- Across
the channel a fast left sometimes runs off, rarely
surfed it's a wave that looks better than it is as
it speeds up way to fast and is rarely makeable.
No mans- Again
rarely surfed sometimes rights run off towards
Lacerations but there shifty and often break on dry
reef.
Lacerations- Although
Lacerations needs a solid swell to start breaking,
when on this is a world class little right with a
nice shaped barrel from start to finish, only shame
is how crowded it gets.
Playgrounds- Is
the most mellow option of the area and the name
describes it well, a right and left peak, the lefts
are the longer more surfed wave, peeling with good
shape, the rights are shorter but a bit more punchy,
this spot is perfect for more average surfers older surfers
and never gets very big, although it is still capable of
giving the odd reef cut if you kiss the bottom.
Ceningan Island- Located
on Ceningan island behind Lembongan a left peels
of the side of the islands reef, not the best left
around, but picks up more swell than other spots
and lets you get wet when otherwise you might go
waveless.
